Abstract

Objective: To determine the prevalence and associated factors of violence in pregnant women at the La
Palma Ica Health Center, 2019. Material and methods: Quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental
cross-sectional study. The sample was 201 pregnant women, the information gathering technique is the
survey. Results: the prevalence of violence in pregnant women was 30%. According to age, there is a higher
prevalence at the age of 19-25 years with 43.9%, marital status is higher in pregnant women living with
34.2%; the educational level in its majority with secondary studies of 41.1%; 50.6% with two or more
children; the alcohol consumption by his partner was followed with 90.5% and in the occupation there is a
35.2% who are housewives. The most frequent types of violence is psychological, with 100%. The practices
assumed in the face of violence in pregnant women, 85.2% did not seek help, 8.2% talk to someone about
the facts and only 3.3% denounce the facts. The consequences of violence in pregnant women; 3.3% will
need medical attention; You will need psychological attention 18%, you will need both attentions 1.6%.
Finally, it is concluded that the prevalence of violence in pregnant women was 30%.
