Abstract

Objective: To know the level of knowledge, attitudes and behaviors on Prevention and Risks of Solar Exposure (PRES) according to some socio-demographic factors, in a population of workers who worked exposed to the sun, in the province of Ica-Peru, during 2021. Methods:
Cross-sectional and relational study, carried out in the province of Ica, during the year 2021. A total of 169 workers of the National Agrarian Health Service of Peru participated, who answered a questionnaire with sociodemographic variables and an instrument measuring knowledge, attitudes and behaviors about PRES, with 27 questions. Absolute and relative frequencies were calculated and differences were evaluated using the Mann-Whitney U test and the
Kruskal-Wallis test, respectively. Results: Of the workers, 12.4% reported a high, 71% a medium and 16.6% a low level of knowledge about SREP. Of the workers, 12.4% have a high level of attitude, 59.2% medium and 28.4% low. Sixteen percent have a medium level of behavior and 84% have a low level. Variations are observed in the proportions of the level of knowledge,
attitude and behavior, according to sociodemographic factors, reaching statistical significance in the level of knowledge according to work location; likewise, in the level of attitude according to work location and stage of life; likewise in the level of behavior according to socio-economic level (p<0.05). Conclusions: The level of knowledge and attitude about PRES is mostly medium
and behavior is low. There are significant differences according to some sociodemographic variables.
