Health determinants of lifestyle and functional capacity ofolder adults served in a health micronetwork in Ica, Peru.

Objective: To determine the health conditions of the lifestyle and functional capacity of older
adults treated in a health micronetwork of Ica, Peru 2021. Materials and Methods: Quantitative,
descriptive and cross-sectional study, with a sample of 94 older adults. The instruments used were
the Questionnaire of health conditions and the Barthel Index, measures of central tendency, use
of frequencies and percentage analysis were applied. Results: 94 older adults were assisted,
predominating ages between 60 to 68 years (n= 80; 85%), female (n=74; 79%), married (n=40;
43%), secondary education (n=66; 70%), with children (n=86; 91%) and living with their spouse
(n=40; 43%). Favorable health conditions are: physical activity and sport (n=74; 79%), leisure time
(n=68; 72%), consumption of psychoactive substances (n=78; 83%), sleep dimension (n=78; =65;
69%), the unfavorable ones are: health self-care (n=63; 67%) and eating habits (n=58; 62%), with
an overall favorable (n=62; 66%) and unfavorable (n=32; 34%). In functional capacity according to
basic activities of daily living, they are independent (n=67; 72%), have mild dependence (n=22;
23%), moderate dependence (n=4; 4%) and severe dependence (n= eleven%). Conclusions: The
health conditions of the lifestyle of older adults cared for in a health micronetwork in Ica, Peru
according to physical activity and sports, leisure time, consumption of psychoactive substances
and sleep are favorable and unfavorable in the self-care dimensions of health and eating habits,
functional capacity according to basic activities of daily life is independence.
