Self-perception of the quality of life and assessment of frailty in older adults in the province of Huanca Sancos, Department of Ayacucho - Peru, year 2021

Objective: : To determine the self-perception of the quality of life and assessment of the frailty of the elderly, Huancasancos Province, Ayacucho Department, year 2021. Material and Method: A non-experimental, quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out, with a sample made up of 77 older adults. The survey was used as a technique, as instruments the FUMAT Questionnaire and the FRAIL scale, measures of central tendency, use of frequencies and percentage analysis were applied. Results: 77 older adults were surveyed, the majority from 69 to 79 years old (n= 42; 55%), female predominance (n=53; 69%), married (n=48; 62%), with education primary school (n=48; 62%), have children (n=70; 91%), currently live alone and without occupation (n=42; 55%). The quality of life is regular in the following dimensions: emotional well-being (n=38; 49%), interpersonal relationships (n=40; 52%), material well-being (n=42; 55%), social inclusion (n=38; 49%), rights (n=34; 44%) and according to global consolidation it is regular (n=45; 58%), high (n=20; 26%) and low (n=12; 16%). Frailty according to the Frail scale in older adults is non-frail (n=46; 60%), pre-frail (n=17; 22%) and frail (n=14; 18%). Conclusions: The self-perception of the quality of life is regular and the frailty is of a non-frail state of the elderly in the Province of Huanca Sancos, Department of Ayacucho.
